I am a BPS approved clinical supervisor and can offer supervision to mental health professionals. Supervision can be provided using a range of approaches including CBT, systemic therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, CFT, ACT, and narrative therapy.
I am also a fully BABCP accredited CBT Therapist and can offer individual or small-group clinical supervision to practitioners who have a professional qualification in CBT or in the process of training in CBT (e.g. Postgraduate Diploma in CBT, IAPT training, DClinPsy). Clinical supervision with myself can be recorded as part of your own professional supervision requirements and can contribute towards your own BABCP accreditation. I am experienced in rating audio recordings of therapists' sessions using the Cognitive Therapy Scale - Revised (CTS-R). I can provide CTSRs in the supervision sessions if required.
Supervision is typically available face-to-face at my Practice or remotely (e.g. via Zoom, Teams, etc.) Through supervision, I aim to provide supervisees with the following opportunities:
The experience of a safe and supportive environment to make personal reflections on their clinical practice.
The space to discuss and build case formulations and treatment plans for individual clients.
The chance to develop therapy skills and techniques, using role play exercises, case discussion and reviews of the latest research literature and practice guidelines.
Meaningful and constructive feedback by rating audio/video recordings of supervisee's therapy sessions using the CTS-R.
A learning environment to make theory-practice links using the latest models/protocols and research.
A safe space to discuss any concerns about particular clients, in confidence and with discretion.
Professional support for career development.
FEES Supervision sessions via Face-to-Face or remote (e.g. via Zoom, Teams, etc.) are charged at £120.00 per hour.
A session rating using the CTSR (including feedback) is charged separately at £120.00 per hour (on request).
Payment can be made in cash on the day of the supervision session. Payment can also be made through bank transfer a minimum of 24 hours before each supervision session. Please email, call, or message me via the contact form to discuss supervision.
REVIEWS FROM FORMER SUPERVISEES
“Each supervision session with Carly has been hugely valued due to the high quality of support and knowledge offered. In terms of content, I have learnt about various models of therapy, formulations and specific therapeutic techniques that I didn’t feel as confident in exploring before. I also had the opportunity to practise with these within our supervision sessions, to ensure I had completely understood the concepts and knew how to best apply these to my own cases. Having Carly as a supervisor made me feel contained as her reliability and accessibility resulted in me always feeling supported. It was really important that I had a positive relationship with my supervisor, which I definitely did. Carly always noticed my strengths, as well as encouraged me to do things slightly out my comfort zone and gave appropriate recommendations where necessary. By the end of my supervision sessions I definitely felt more confident in the skills I was adopting in therapy sessions, became more organised, and developed more awareness of certain protocols, ensuring client’s safety. I am very thankful for everything I have learnt in the past year and I hope to keep on developing these skills in the future.” (Assistant Psychologist)
“Supervision with Carly was the best ever as I had difficult experiences with some of my past clinical supervisors. She is a very professional, understanding, sensitive and compassionate supervisor with a lot of experience and knowledge in Mental Health. I was able to excel in my university course due to her good support and encouragement.” (CBT Therapist, Mental Health Nurse, and CAMHS Practitioner)
“Carly supervised me for my second year of a CYP-IAPT Post-Graduate Diploma in CBT. I feel that Carly supported me so much throughout my final year, she was always able to help me when needed and she was also extremely efficient at getting back to me and offering extra guidance. Carly seems to go above and beyond, such as sending relevant articles, tools, her own university lecture slides and useful reading and I feel that this level of investment makes you feel really supported. I met with Carly fortnightly and I always felt that it was a safe space to talk about and reflect on cases. Due to Carly's experience and knowledge of CBT and specific mental health disorders, this helped me to learn to apply a structured, CBT approach whilst also being flexible when thinking about individual cases. Carly helped me to plan future sessions and she also watched my videos and looked at my formulations. It was also really helpful to have Carly sit in for one of my sessions and give really useful feed back. I think the main things I benefited from during supervision with Carly was her level of efficiency, the knowledge she shares, her investment and mostly her passion, this helped me to feel really supported and also raised my own enthusiasm to support others through CBT”.
